Sea Kayak Adriatic

Coastlines of Croatian islands are heaven for kayaking adventures due to the fact that there are 1,185 islands within the area of the Adriatic Sea and that they are geographically divided into 718 islands, 389 cliffs, and 78 reefs.

Because of its indentedness, the coastlines of Croatia are longer than the lands coastlines. 77 islands are larger than 14m2 and only 20 of them are larger than 20km2. The biggest island is Krk with 40km2.

National Park Kornati (220km2) is the most popular and the most beautiful for sea kayaking adventures because of its wonderful landscapes, interesting geomorphology, great coastal indentation, and especially rich biocenosis of the sea’s ecosystem.Kornati are made up of a total of 89 islands, small islands and cliffs with 238km of coast.

You will experience something special while floating down the rivers which run through canyons and flows in the sea. There is a total of six of them and the most beautiful are the river Zrmanja (69km), Krka (73km), and Cetina (100km.). A special river which must be mentioned is the River Neretva which flows into a large valley of channels, rich archeological findings and flora and fauna. From a total of 203km of river which runs beneath Zelengore in Bosnia, only 22km run through Croatia. The rest of the rivers which flow into the Adriatic are Mirna (53km) and Rjecina (19km). We hope this interesting information helped you get a better picture of the Adriatic Coast.
